Is Hyperion OS available to install today?

Not yet as a full operating system. Hyperion OS is pre-release, with access by waitlist. EntroEdge Desktop for Windows is in private testing and not yet distributed. A Developer Alpha is coming soon, with a Beta targeted for Q4 2026, a 1.0 consumer release for Q1 2027, and certified hardware for 2028.

What does Hyperion OS cost, and what's included free?

Free, no subscription. Ganglion, running Microsoft's Phi-4-mini-instruct (ONNX) on your own machine, is included free. EntroEdge idle contribution is opt-in and capped at 5% of the machine.

A private AI assistant (Phi-4-mini-instruct) that runs on your own machine. No account, and nothing sent to a cloud.

Post-quantum connections

Secure connections use hybrid post-quantum key exchange (X25519MLKEM768) through OpenSSL 3.5, and Hyperion-signed packages are moving to ML-DSA through libcrux.

Your apps, coming along

Windows app compatibility through Wine and Proton is on the roadmap, and dual-boot is planned so your current system stays one restart away.

Hyperion Shell

A clean Wayland desktop that tells you, in plain sentences, what your system is doing and why. Policy lives in the core; the shell just shows it.

EntroEdge: opt-in, 5% of the machine

Off until you say yes. The system is designed to cap it at 5% of the machine's compute capacity, and pause means stop.

Signed packages

Packages will be signed, and the signing path is being built on post-quantum ML-DSA through libcrux.
